Video: 2020 Grants from the Virginia Law Foundation

The pandemic and resulting economic fallout from the nationwide shutdown have affected our grant recipients, but they persevere with their missions undauntedly. Hear from a few of our grant recipients – including Cancer Linc, the John Marshall Foundation, the Virginia Law-Related Education Institute, and the Southwest Virginia Legal Aid Society – in our latest video.

“Now, with the economic uncertainty going around and the income insecurity going around, we have more clients who are eligible for our services than we had before, and so they’re presenting to us now with problems they probably never thought they would ever have,” said Joseph Carico, Executive Director of the Southwest Virginia Legal Aid Society. “Specifically, people who may need to file for bankruptcy, are having issues with debt collectors, and are facing eviction.”
